Student Ministry

Welcome!

We exist to spreading the hope of Christ to every student; one friend at a time

Our ministry is a strategic approach to influencing teens and young adults within their world, so they, in turn will shape their culture. At Richwoods Christian Church, we believe this age group is capable of changing the community.

The Junior High Ministry (6th-8th grade)

Our Junior High ministry is focused on connecting students to an environment where they can be loved and feel excepted. This is done through caring adult leaders who continually show up and invest in the students. This age comes with significant changes in almost all areas of life and we desire to help them along the way.

Every Wednesday Night we provide a safe place, call “JrHi Uthgroop”, where students can have fun, find belonging, be loved as we help them grow. A night consists of a lesson, a group activity and small group time.

When: Wednesday @ 7pm-8:45 // doors open at 6:30

Where: Knoxville Campus | 8115 N. Knoxville Ave. | Peoria

Richwoods does not provide a Sunday school class separate from the weekend’s worship. Students and adult leaders are encouraged to sit together in service and worship as a group.

at our Knoxville Campus we provide the Cloud where students can hangout before and after service.

EVENTS

Throughout the year, Uthgroop provides a variety of special events, activities, and retreats to promote community.

The Senior High Ministry (9th-12th grade)

Our Senior High Ministry is focused on helping students take the next step in their journey toward Christ. The is done by creating an environment where students can come as they are and be cared for and loved by their leaders and peers.

Every Wednesday Night we provide a place we call “SrHi Uthgroop” where students engage with leaders and peers. Our purpose is to continue the healthy environment of love and belonging set out from the JrHi Uthgroop, but to also go deeper in conversations…so ultimately, as a group, they can grow in both their relationships with God and each other.

When: Wednesday @ 7pm-8:45 // doors open at 6:30

Where: Knoxville Campus | 8115 N. Knoxville Ave. | Peoria

During the week we provide PODs (what we call small groups). These provide an environment where students can engage on a deeper level than Large Group. They consist of 5-8 students and meet in different homes in the surrounding Peoria area. These groups are led and facilitated by an adult

Joining a POD is the best way to create healthy relationships with other students as well as with the adult leaders involved. Trying to go through life alone is very difficult… we’ve all been there, and we’ve all needed someone to talk to or hang out with. Find a group of friends who are dealing with the same stuff you are, because living life along is never a good idea.
