Service TimesSunday: 9am and 11am Kids ROCK opens :15 before each service. Coffee & donuts are ready by 8:30a!
"Welcome!" That's how we want you to feel any time you rub shoulders with us at Richwoods - on the website, via social media, or in person. Each Sunday we gather at the Embassy Suites Conference Center in East Peoria to celebrate in community, encouraging one another as we live out the mission of helping people find and follow Jesus Christ.
Our desire is to be a place where people can honestly explore their relationship with God - starting right where they are. There is no need for pretense or shame. Just come. Yes, we have what some may call "traditional" elements of a modern-day church service: song, prayer, giving, teaching, etc... But we think you will find our approach far from traditional.
Join us at 9 or 11am on Sundays, "like" us on Facebook, "follow" us on Twitter, or maybe even take that next step by engaging in GroupLife or on a ministry team. We would love the opportunity to meet you!
Ken Stewart, Campus Pastor
East Campus HistoryThe Story of our East Campus goes way back, well beyond our "official" opening day of January 21, 2011. Years ago, the leadership at Richwoods caught the vision to be a multisite church.
Many people think the multisite concept is little more than the latest in a long line of church growth strategies, but we don't see it that way. God has firmly placed the word "Impact" on our hearts. And from the early days of this movement, we have realized the breadth and depth of impact multiple campuses can have on the communities we serve.
The idea of our first additional campus started to take visible form in early 2009. In August of that year, a number of our leaders attended a multisite practicum in the Chicagoland area, and the plans started being put to paper. We hired a Campus Pastor in March of 2010 (Ken Stewart) and asked him to lead the effort in getting our East Campus off the ground.
The journey has not been easy. Carrying out a singular vision, mission, and message in more than one physical location with localized leadership is not something we have done as a matter of course in our churches, especially in the midwest. We believe we are charting new ground in many ways. And, as it is in our personal lives, every family is different, so what works in one church in one area of the country may not work as well in another church in another area. Every step we take is an opportunity to learn, grow, and depend more and more on God's direction and sustenance.
So, here we are today - alive and well on the east side of the Illinois river serving the communities of Washington, Germantown Hills, Pekin, Metamora, East Peoria, Creve Coeur, Marquette Heights, Morton, Groveland, and beyond.
Our Story is just beginning. And what a Story it is becoming...
