East Children’s Ministry

 FIRST TIME  FAMILIES

When you arrive the first time at any of our campuses please make your way to the Children’s Ministry Check In Desk. One of our volunteers will welcome you and ask basic information to check your child in. After check in we will take you to your child’s class and introduce you to their teacher/caregiver. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask.

Our check in desk is located in the foyer area of Embassy Suites Convention Center. We have a visitor’s station to setup family profiles to make the process seamless for recurring checkins.

  BABIES

We provide a safe and caring environment for children 6 weeks to 23 months old. Our volunteers are trained to adapt to different child’s needs and try different approaches to make sure each one feels comfortable in their class. During service we sing songs, read stories, play with toys, enjoy a snack of goldfish/cheerios and water, then check diapers before they are picked up.

Note: We provide a Mother’s Nursing Room on site as well as changing areas in the men and women’s restrooms to provide support and comfort.

  TODDLERS

Our toddler classrooms focus on creative play, sharing the stories of the Bible, and introducing them to the love of Christ. Through age appropriate lessons and activities your child will be able to explore and play in a safe, nurturing environment.

 PRE  K

We continue the child’s journey in our program by digging deeper into the stories of the Bible, provide interaction as we discover God’s story, and play throughout the morning. While the morning is structured in order to prepare the children for the next class, there is a constant focus on fun.

Our Pre-K aged children and Kindergartners are in the same class, we call this group of kids Bears. If your child is 4 or 5 years old and/or in Kindergarten on September 1st of the current year then they will be apart of our Bears room until they enter First Grade.

  ELEMENTRY

The elementary program is modeled to reflect Richwoods Christian Church’s philosophy of large and small groups. Our volunteers provide a large group experience for the majority of the children and then they break into smaller groups with more volunteers in order to build relationships and dig deeper into the lesson.

First and Second Graders are in a class together. Third, Fourth, and Fifth graders are in a class together. Their Sunday morning experience begins with worship in the classroom, led by volunteers and supported through a video medium. After worship they receive the drama/lesson through a video provided by our curriculum. Then our volunteers lead them in prayer, activities, and discussion that connects the drama/lesson with every day life.
